Raspberry Pi Shader Live Coding
On a 1080p video using ofxOMXPlayer by @jvcleave for the workshop we'll be doing at Resonate on the Raspberry Pi.

Point Sprites!
With a shader to set the proper sizes based on distance, trying some stuff out for a project.
Couldn't find a complete example for this anywhere, will post when I get a chance. Original Flickr pageFriday, 29th July 2011, 14:36
Baby steps towards an OpenFrameworks GL ES 2.0 Renderer
Basically I want to use shaders with Openframeworks on iOS, which you can't do if you are rendering using OpenGL ES 1.1 as we are now.
So far this was relatively low hanging fruit thanks to code.google.com/p/gles2-bc/ and the awesome swappable renderer system in OF 0.07.
For now I'm just focusing on getting the standard OF drawing stuff working.
Lives here for now: github.com/andreasmuller/openFrameworks/tree/develop-open...

A safer version of my Lamp North circuit
Running off 12V, using clusters of LEDs I got from www.ultraleds.co.uk/
The perceived change in light looks a bit odd on the iPhone. I have to play around with the response curve a bit either way.

Lamp North prototype perspex
It's a little bit too tall perhaps, a holdover from when it had to fit a lightbulb inside, gotta find some time to finish the electronics.
I need to find a more matte perspex, but this is fine for a prototype. Original Flickr pageFriday, 06th May 2011, 14:34
PixelTubes
Running some Quicktimes through my control system out to the DMX LED tubes, fun fun.

Lighting Controller + RGB LED tube
I'm working on a light installation with a friend of mine, so I'm evaluating the Pixelline RGB LED tubes.
It's a perfect opportunity to add colour support and do some refactoring on the Lighting Control software (it needs a name) that I've been working on, previously it only dealt with dimmers.
On the todo list is ArtNet support as I can see that working with RGB LEDs will gobble up DMX channels pretty quick, but it'll have to wait until a project requires it as I will need to buy some gear. So far 512 channels is enough and I could always run another Enttec USB DMX adapter if I need to get something running quickly.
Another thing to check out is if I can use PBOs to speed up the glReadPixels from the FBOs that make up the small canvases that are used to map pixels to lights.
Strangely enough when I tried to record this in Windows Fraps would steal the glReadPixels and I would end up with no colour data to output to the lights, an odd gotcha.
I really need to sit down and work on the layout of any on-screen information at some point as well, right now it's all just thrown somewhere it would fit.
Quicktime Screen Capture did not grab the sound unfortunately. Original Flickr pageWednesday, 09th March 2011, 14:18
Hyundai Light Reveal Lighting Controller
Well not quite, this is one of the things I was trying out in isolation. part o the control software we used for: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwqKy07OhXI (More documentation coming soon.)
Basically it's a way to project a piece of video onto an arbitrary shape of lights.
For this vimeo.com/16762766 I hardcoded in 4 rectangles around the model of the house, but in this new system I represent the surface in 3D space, use that as a view and then get the lights positions within the 2D surface by looking them up in an ortographic projection.
Then when you have the 2D positions of the lights within the surface it's easy to look up what brightness they should be depending on the video playing or whatever it is you are drawing into that surface.
The view in the screenshot is looking straight down onto an almost flat set of lights but of course the real benefit comes when the shape of the lights is a bit more irregular. Original Flickr pageThursday, 24th February 2011, 22:48
iPad OSC to DMX to dimmer rack
Not what this project is about at all, but I had to hook it up just for fun.
A bit of lag from a patchy Wifi signal, response is pretty instant otherwise. Original Flickr pageFriday, 18th February 2011, 18:09
Setting up
Standing in for the object that will be in the middle later.
